Colour Experiment |
|
Dots used |
After experimentation with both opacity and
colour, I chose a technique which allows me to show both the front and top of
each other. Use of colour was interesting and incorporated use of modern
graphic design trends, this will make a successful typeface to be used and
display print. Although the brief was to create outfits which can be used in
any order, I would be unable to do this if using colour are some of the colours
will clash. Yet you using opacity alone typeface too dull, therefore it would
not be a successful display type. Therefore, I considered using the use of
stippling, this is the technique that was used in my original sketches; I noticed
how there was blank space behind the dots therefore another letterform would be
visible through it. To be able to create a typeface which used this technique, I had to first create a base for the stippling; to do this I created a large file
photo shop this would ensure when clipping the letterforms, they would all have
they even consistency of dots. In order to make the typeface interesting I kept
the dots tight, this also means the top letterforms as visible as possible
without blocking the one beneath it.
