When presenting my work to the class, I
received various critical feedback. The feedback told me very similar factors
that should be changed which was identified in the group crit. Once again I
received the feedback that the lowercase letters looked more successful than
the uppercase letters in representing simplicity, and also give a sense of
playfulness as the uppercase letter forms appear to be too authoritative. In my
feedback, I was also told that type kerning worked well for the purposes I
needed of it, the kerning offers a connected look to the whole of the logotype;
thus giving it structure as a logo. It was also identified that I should use a
lighter line waiting, this gives the logotype more modern look due to the
amount of whitespace that is on the page. Finally, the feedback given told me that I should
use less differentiation within the logotype; as I am going for a simpler look
to exemplify the contrast between modern and vintage - therefore using a typeface in its most basic form would work best.
