Group idea development consisted of gaining
visual and theoretical knowledge and ideas about the words that you have
chosen. We did this by each of us looking at three other individuals work and
making comments and short snappy visual depictions of what we think of for the
word. The first response was that the first image at the top was based
around simple line drawings in which we kept to a 3 x 3 square. The lines are
meant to represent our words in the best way possible without leaving the set
margins. From this I learnt that my word is interpreted as almost recycling a meaning or concept. The next feedback I gathered was also create a quick image
which relates back to word, each image on the page shows a sense of power
passing from one to another, this can be seen through the use of light and dark
and also to the depiction of the sun. In the final sheet of feedback, I
gathered letterforms quickly drawn, that have been inspired from the previous
drawings, this is how we visually depict the way in which I can capture the
meaning of renew in an innovative way. Upon receiving this feedback, I think
that it is clear I need to experiment with the use of line contrasting shading
and depth to be able to clearly embody the meaning of the word.
