Logo Development

Logo Developments
My logo needed to be representative of the collaboration factor of the app, whilst still being minimal enough to be clear and identifiable on a small phone screen. I began exploring the idea of a circle, with the name ‘Collab’ dividing the circle in two representing the way in which two halves of something come together, such as two creatives coming together to work together on a project. I then moved onto exploring the idea of taking just half of the circle to represent the way in which the app is finding something that wasn’t previously there to complete something that visual memory is telling you should be there. Although I feel as if the mix between the type and the soft curve of the semi-circle doesn’t particularly work, as the line weights clash and it becomes uncomfortable to look at. To eliminate the awkward shape I used a square split by a simple bar, allowing half of the name to be in the top and half in the bottom it is representing two parts coming together in one strong space, the square; similar to how the app brings creatives together. The same line weight was used in the text as the box itself, further affirming this sense of collaboration and togetherness.
