After carefully thinking about which pictogram should be
used for my wayfinding system I have decided on the layout of the booklet. The
first page will be a pictogram giving a clue of the building which the audience
is looking for, this is why my pictogram needed some detail and therefore makes
the building recognisable to the audience. Underneath this there will be the original
old image of the building, this will be overlaid by the blue asterisk with one
of the arms removed, this arm is to allow the audience to hold the image up and
align it to the current scene. The blue asterisk will not be opaque meaning
that the image can still be seen below. The use of this pictogram corresponds
with where the person should stand to hold the image up to be able to get the
best view, this will be mocked up after I do further primary image research.
The page after this, again contains no words, on this page the arrow pictograms
are presented to direct the audience to the next location. Similar to the other
pictogram is used within my wayfinding system the arrows matchup with the
corresponding arrows on the street telling the audience went to turn. Therefore,
if the person takes us literally without looking for the signs on the street
they will end up in the wrong location.
