Due to the research that I've done so far, I've decided on rather
than my wayfinding system being based on the oldest places of interest in Leeds
I will be basing it on historic buildings in which their surroundings have
changed but they have not. My research has informed this decision due to the
visual nature of the alternative wayfinding systems, I believe by taking out
the guidebook factor of my outcome be able to develop something which informs
people how the surroundings are changing, yet the city still has some staple
pieces of architecture. I will still be developing my research into the visual
factors of wayfinding, whilst bearing in mind the imagery technique I have
found in previous research (old against new). The historic buildings in Leeds
which I could include are as follows:
·
City Sqaure
·
Caverley Street
·
Briggate
·
Temple Works
·
Kirkgate Market
·
Leeds Civic Hall
·
Corn Exchange
·
Leeds Civic Court
I believe these buildings will have the most photographic
content from history, therefore would fit into my wayfinding system. Although I
will be taking primary photos and exploring the roots in which these buildings
could be placed along my system. Also be doing further research into
presentation techniques, as well as sources which I could find my old photos
from.
