Intial Research - What is a Wayfinding system

My initial research provided me with more intellect on what a way finding system actually is. A wayfinding system is something that is defined as a way of spatial problem-solving it's all about knowing where you are an environment to know where the desired location is. There are many different ways away finding but the overall idea is that the audience is forced to take particular route. In a poor wayfinding system, the user does not have enough information to decide on his or her course of action, although this being said previous research was based on whether a wayfinding system should be subjective or objective. This will be highly influencing my wayfinding system, as I believe the subjective opinion makes wayfinding system more creative but then can't really be classed as wayfinding system if an option is given. The key features of the wayfinding system is that it should be clear and concise, often found eyesight level and highlighted through techniques such as contrasting colours and lighting.
