Within my initial ideas, I began to note down the different ways in which could represent the land, whilst also acknowledging the people that take part in this committee and the upkeep of said land. I began to think about the town being Royal consequently the logo could be based around the rose, although the use of trees and the rose has been previously used within the new town Council logo and therefore would look to similar. I then began to think about the use of the trees themselves with the three main species being different the logo must incorporate all three. This can be done through experimentation with textures such as the bark, or through swatches extracting different colour elements from the scene itself. I also began to consider the idea of the way in which personality must play a part of the logo, as it is a committee made up of the local community this must be evident through visuals. There needs to be a visual link of community spirit, to raise and encourage more people within the community to join. I must create a visual in which centre community is there, it also considers the way in which the committee has been formed in order to preserve and enhance the natural features of the land rather than impose man's interference.

The idea which to count me from my initial ideas mainly with the trees, the trees were specific to this location and there are only three breeds that mainly grow in this area. Therefore by using visuals that clearly linked towards the species, you are making it clear that this is evidently linked towards the mossy bank. Yet two of the species that are evident here (yew and pine) contain leaves that are too narrow and small and detailed to be able to use a simplified larger logo. The requirements state that clarity is needed from most people to be able to understand this and therefore if I was going around the idea of using leaves to inspire the logo, I should be using the leaf of the oak tree. Not only is the leaf the Oakleaf identifiable and visually linked to the idea of outdoors and nature widely, but is also the predominant species within mossy bank. This is an idea I will be further experimenting with digitally.

The idea of extracting colour from the environment to be able to use the logo also stood out to me,
as it embraces the area of land through design. Similar to the way in which the committee is trying to embrace the area of land and improve it based on its nature. To be able to begin my experimentation with this colour process I took some simple swatches from images and received from the committee.
