Within the first branded experimentations for Rachel Victoria I looked into the possible use of a small logo, the logo needed to be representative of the name rather than the artist visually. The artist being new wanted to gain greater notoriety meant that RV should be used within this logo. Although due to the nature of the music the artist wish to keep the logo simple and straight back, similar to that of the style of music that she produces. The first two experimentations feature the letters overlaying each other, first experiment doesn't particularly strip but the letters and becomes overcomplicated due to the amount of lines are overlapping each other. The second experiment sees the lack of the arms on the left side giving a clean straight line to the are this simplifies the logotype slightly, although it still confusing to look at due to the intersection between the R in the V. Within the third experimentation I decided to separate the letters completely, not only separating them but adding a division between the two therefore clearly stating what each one is and how it should be said, visually representing the way in which the name is the first and last name.
Further research into musicians who are solo artists showed me that modern day musicians do not really have logos, this was discussed with the artist and she decided that also she should not have a logo. In order to keep modern and keep moving forward. Through the use of solely using the name alongside any visual material against notoriety for the link between the artists portrait and name. From the section I had shown the artist, she agreed with me that the simpler logotype would be better for the music that she represents and performs. Taking a similar approach to the photo shoot creative direction. Giving the brand a whole ethos, to take into consideration as designs move forward. Therefore I developed the logos below, it is simple, and used a thin line. The simplistic font has been used to keep the focus on the name itself and also the work that has been paired with, the reason in the first place the taking away the logo. Objktiv Has been used as the typeface. A wider tracking of the letters has been used to ensure this clarity and sense of vulnerability between the lettering.
