Rachel Victoria - Promotion

Figure 1
Figure 2
Figure 1 is to be used as a profile picture, throughout various social media accounts linked to the artists. Such as Facebook, Twitter, Spotify. I selected this image to be the main focus for the profile picture is a belief the stance that the artist is in just a sense of power and almost authenticity, allowing the audience to trust and what she's saying through her music. Although this is contrasted by the openness of the body and vulnerability presented by such body language in this photo, representing the music style in which the artists produces her work within.
Figure 2 is to be used with the production of banners and adverts to promote the artist herself as an artist, rather than singly promoting the EP. This will gain notoriety for the artist, and improve the social media following. I selected this image to be used throughout the brand advertising as the artist is really looking at the audience capturing their attention, and therefore enticing them to want to know more about the brand.

Video Promotion:

This majority of the advertised will be happening online in a social media surrounding, I've decided to create a moving image piece which people can find more interactive than a stand-alone image. To create this video I have used Premier pro, a program which before this had not used and therefore must have taught myself how to use. I did not want to use any other software due to the format in which the video should be presented, and the quality of which is expected of music industry promotion.
The video itself  captures the personality of the artist in a way which a picture may not, the movements of the body language of the artist translate to a more relatable piece. It allows the audience to engage the artist before hearing the music itself, and entices them to then further engaged with the music by hearing it when it is released.
The backing track to the video is a set of harmonies recorded by the artist, which allows an insight into the type of music that they may hear from the album, without releasing any of the actual content early.

Due to the learning curve that using premiere pro was  I began by producing the video as seen in figure 3.  this first attempt at creating a video is very basic in terms of transitioning lighting and effects. Because of this I wanted to further develop the video and possibly create a scene where more than one of the videos are playing at once as well as create more professional standard of timing and fit the content with the music playing in the background. Also due to the filming I believe that the video clips would look better if the smaller size in terms of composition, as being full screen on the way through makes the video looks very DIY.  which is something the artist is trying to move away from.

Figure 4 was a later attempt, as seen below, at a response to creating a promotional video for Rachel Victoria's new EP. By putting the branding and name right at the beginning of the video it is instantly telling the audience what it is about. By also playing with composition the videos are given more texture on the screen, is more than one thing is happening at once; similar to the way which the voices harmonising. The videos are also more suited to the backing track itself as I was able to develop a further understanding of the high and low points within the track. This creates a more professional outcome to the artist and therefore creates a better promotional impact towards their music.
