Micro-music Genre - Production

The production of the collages entailed me sourcing imagery from various sources, such as magazines newspapers and the Internet. The ages of the photos did not matter, as I wanted to create a layered effect which showed different layers of different generations in the way that house music is created.
The imagery must be related to the certain situation which I chose to betray:

1. the goldfish that avoided the date
2. the clingfilm which ended in imprisonment
3. and the tide pod challenge

For example, the tide pod challenge images were collected of Tide Pods and relevant paraphernalia, such as candy like the packaging as this is what it was described as in the media, washing machines etc. these images could then be taken in compositions into a particular way. The images were cut out using a scalpel and then pasted into a background setting that was relevant to the story.

To be able to ensure that I got the correct type of imagery and didn't waste time picking out pointless content, I created a few initial sketches which were basis to follow my design, these could change as I found the imagery if I found something more appropriate by did not want to start designing without any sort of basal thought towards the process.

Chosen images:

1 -  imagery here was chosen to represent the upset about losing the fish, hence the background of the stormy ocean to represent the danger. The piece itself will also include a found image of a woman who is shocked, the shock being representative of the shock that was involved when the man turned up at the door. The images will be paper cut and layered onto the background in an A4 format which will then be scanned into the computer and blown at an appropriate size.

2- The imagery used here is to represent the better celebration that led to the event, Saran wrap has been used as this happened in America and therefore this is the most predominant American range. Faces of shock has been used from different decades the different styles will create an interesting textured look which will add a dimensional of events happening over time, adding to the factor of the joke going to far.

3- The imagery here that has been selected indicates the idea of the product which is being consumed as a challenge, to be perceived as a sweet and something to be desired. Whereas this is meant to be used with a washing machine shown here by the direct obvious imagery, there was also some found imagery which I will be including including the image of a sweet shop.
