I have chosen to move forward with the mail out design direction, this would give me the chance to be able to explore with different specialisms within the design, testing all of my digital and printed skill sets. This also, I believe fits the brief most appropriately as it allows for the target audience to be able to get in touch with the product, not only in a in-store environment, which means males would be more likely to be more open in trying and ordering the product. Products that I have seen advertised and marketed in this way have been more experimental, which leaves me to see if the product in a temporary market which could then be developed and put into stores.
From my primary research, I also discovered that the males who do use makeup were unsure on what to purchase, if I created an online subscription service they could simply answer a questionnaire, similar to that of the one shown in my research, which would then determine what products would be best for that particular consumer. Through doing this it is eliminating the process of selection for them and therefore in fitting with the needs of the target demographic. Due to the way that the products are advertised, online and through social media it is also fitting in with the platforms that the target demographic, 25 and under, would be using.
I will now further my research into the types of products that offer a similar service in a similar way which have done it successfully. I will be creating the packaging for the products as well as the complete mail out service needs, including the box, and any other packaging that would be needed in order to send this to the client.
