CC - Individual Posters Development/Refinement

Development

As I was experimenting with the poster designs, I suggested about designing an individual logo in the style of the overarching logo for each of the speakers. Through doing this we could put a shortened down version of the overarching logo at the bottom of the poster within the blue banner, this allows for the individual to be tied better with the branding of the event itself and also make it extremely clear that they are part of the circuit. Through doing so this also allows a higher amount of visual consistency throughout the branding. Emma designed a shorter version of the logo to be able to place within the blue banner at the bottom of the page.

We chose to use a resistor element as the test posters we felt it work best with the inclusion of the extra lines to make the design more interesting, but also ensure that each part of the circuit was still lined up. Furthermore, by having the name in the style of the logo brought more focus to the designer themselves opposed to the design.

Due to the fact that we wanted each the elements to be representative of that designer that was visiting that day, we decided to use colour to be able to represent that use of that element for example the resistor filling with energy. Therefore, I experimented with different ways in which we could give this visual representation, as can be seen below.

Refinement

After designing the first poster shown in figure 1 Emma and I split the responsibility of designing the remaining posters in half, allowing us to spend an equal amount of time on each poster and produce it to the highest possible standard. Due to the fact that we did not have any name to the speakers we continue to use the one name of the speaker and the logo style that we did have developed.
