Within my critique session, I explained to the group the concept behind the designs in which we are creating, giving a short sample of
the script itself, and also showing visual references for our research. In doing
so it gave the group an idea around the direction in which we wanted to head
and therefore would be able to get feedback that was most appropriate to be
able to fit the brief and the best possible visual response.
In the critique section in the critique section after the
initial sketches were shown, the feedback was given on the typographic style in
which we would be moving forward. When questioned stated that we had discussed
the typographic style would be a handmade font to be able to give the
illustrative style are complementing type. Although it was said that the type
should be more structured and stronger to be to contrast against this. This
would also complement the Durex branding type, as well as give a more
authoritative tone of voice to the piece in contrast to the illustrative style.
When showing the illustrations people liked the more complex
colourful illustration style, once again this was said because of the tone of
voice of the actual script themselves the illustration needed to have a sense
of maturity in order to bring the seriousness of the issue that is being spoken
about to light. Although they believe the colour palette should be more
selective.
