CC - Logo

Initial Ideas

After deciding on the idea of circuits Emma decided to start generating ideas for a logo using her iPad and procreate. These quick sketches allowed us to get an idea of what direction we could move in with the logo.

Emma then continued on by producing these into digital developments experimenting with both the name creative combos and creative connections, she chose the three designs which he felt was most effective from the original designs and presented them to me to be able to get feedback, and so we could move forward together in creating the final design.
Figures 2-4 show the 3 designs which I feel are most effective and will present to Callum as options. I feel that figure 2 works well as it is simple, and clearly shows the name of the events. However, Figure 4 is more complex, but more interesting and shows the idea of connections and circuits more clearly. Figure 3 aimed to represent the vector connections, but removing a section to create two 'c's for creative conversations.

Logo Development

After reviewing the logo initial ideas and had created a felt the logo shown in figure 5 was the most effective. However, I felt that the logo need to be simplified in order to make it bolder and more distinctive the event, in order to gain visual notoriety amongst the audience. Therefore, I experimented with creating the logos and the outcomes that can be seen in figures 6 and 7. The type it in place into a box shape which made it more even and creates a more cohesive design as it is not spread out bringing the words together so that the title of the event was read as one.

Emma felt that the typeface under the ‘circuit’ was too fussy and therefore experimented with changing it from the typeface Chapman to the typeface Big Caslon. As can be seen within figures 8 and 9.
