Before beginning the ideation stayed for the website itself,
I decided to look into the different ways that the major competitors in the local area presented their online presence. Through doing this I could see what
works and what doesn't to the businesses that are currently leading the market
in the industry within the parameters.
|
Tonks Brother's Website |
- The website is simple and displays lots of imagery of the
work itself.
- Branding is evident such as pictures of the van.
- Typefaces are inconsistent with the rest of the website, and
inconsistencies with the actual titles.
- The hero banner is not interchangeable and has not changed.
- Accent colour carried out in inconsistent parts due to
imagery.
- Structures in a dated way.
|
ETS Website |
- Inconsistency with the accent colour of the logo.
- Inconsistency and style of imagery.
- Amateur imagery used.
- Interchangeable images within the hero banner, this is something
to look into to be able to offer a point of difference to each consumer who
comes onto the website.
- Clear central navigation, making it easy for the user to be
able to get around.
|
Heart of England |
- The key accent colour is carried to about through borders and
other design aspects.
- Breaking of block colour banners, and inconsistency and type
size offers a confusing sense of hierarchy.
- Clear navigation system.
- No differentiation between header and contact in terms of
visual identity.
