As can be seen below in figure 1 we receive feedback from
the tutors, we were unsuccessful in securing the pitch. The feedback explained
that the concept is well thought out and the work was produced to a high
standard and presented as such.
However, they felt the branding needed to be ‘joyful, celebratory
and fun’ which apparently did not come across within our designs. This was not
part of the brief, nor notified as a requirement at any point of the briefing. Therefore,
being an art University, we decided to focus on the concept and ensuring a
professional design that both the University and the industry could be proud
of rather making something that appeared to be ‘fun’.
it was suggested that we should push the electronics into a
glitch in lo-fi direction although this would create a need for an animation
and motion style throughout the branding itself completely contrasting against
the style we created. Furthermore, the typefaces were described as safe, yet
all were considered and had deep reasoning behind.
