Emma and I worked on the development of the ‘thank you’
poster together. We wanted to design a poster that would be able to be produced
for the speakers themselves to take home, showing the circuit put together in
the bulb ‘lit up’. We began by designing the initial ideas using the structure
of the overall poster, although this time the entire circuit was working in the
elements were filled up. Rather than the name in the centre of thank you note
was created in the same style as the logo, ensuring brand consistency. We try
to use a yellow background in order to show that the lightbulb had been turned
on. However, we felt that this design did not work with the contrast of the
blue, or the rest of the campaign, due to the fact of its bright colour
overbearing the strict monochrome pattern that can be found throughout. Therefore,
we focus on adding subtle yellow marks on the poster itself, with just adding
the yellow to the words thank you and the circuit itself in keeping with the
style of the rest of the design. In order to show the contrast against the
working nature of the circuit now is been completed we use the ikb colour to
show the elements being filled against the yellow structure. Further
development also led to the simplification of the poster, by adding thank you
at the bottom in the font Big Caslon and in keeping the creative conversations
logo itself is the focus, it keeps the brand in the event's memory at the focus
of the piece, was also saying what was needed.
