LGBT - Chosen Design/Refinement

Chosen Design Development

After the last meeting with the client, it was decided which design we were moving forward with. In order to get the final design further refinement was needed. In terms of typography, the title needed bringing towards the bottom of the page to not be obstructive to the rainbow coloured outline typographic object. As this was the main visual for the branding itself this needed to remain unobstructed in the main overarching poster. By bringing the typography title of the actual event down to the bottom it also allowed for negative space around it making sure it is clear and identifiable as the event. In order to keep clarity the location and date were standardised into Europa bold, this is due to the clarity that this typeface offers. Being a typeface with no contrasting parts of the left offers the most clarity especially when placed onto a black background. To further exemplify this the writing was kept white and added was a slightly larger In order to keep clarity in between each of the letters themselves. Due to this information being about the event itself I believe keeping it by ties in with the title of the event, therefore, brings it to the forefront of the piece. This also allows for a contrast against the colours used within the typographic object to resemble the LGBT plus flag and does not distract against it.
Intensely outlines themselves outline was up to a three point from one-point line weighting, this was to be able to highlight the nature of the poster itself. It also ensured when the poster was being printed that the colours were brought to the forefront and had enough contrast against the black to be able to stand out, this needed to be taken into consideration due to the darker nature of some the colours such as the navy blue and purple.
