I chose this photo to investigate my Pantone colour
swatch from as it is a point I walk past most days; it also contains two things
that are very ‘Leeds’ in terms of uniqueness; thus I thought it would be
interesting to have for ‘my street’. Both broadcast tower and the red bus stop
is something that is unique to the Leeds area. Both of which contain these
rusty red tonnes which contrasts against the other grey tones found in the
urban surroundings. As the surroundings contain these tones too they create a
strong gradient from close to white grey, until almost black red. This extreme
contrast also makes it a unique scene. The red is further highlighted on the
road, giving the piece a sense of balance in terms of colour.
