To be able to contribute towards the catalogue design I began
to come up with a design plan. The design consists of a grid 6x6 grid system in
the style of a newspaper. The colours and typefaces within the design are consistent
with the rest of the exhibition branding, each page features a large image of
the work with a description below, the title of the piece overlaying the image,
similar to the style of a newspaper. Although after speaking with the rest of
the group, and tutor’s feedback pointed out the number of prints that would be
required to be inside the catalogue, therefore this design style would be
impractical. The design would be developed to include more than one design on
each page printed on either side of the stock. The grid system would also need
to be developed to be able to resemble a newspaper document to further bring
together the whole identity of the exhibition branding, through using this grid
it would also mean that more content could be placed on each page.
