The poster will be an A3 hung poster, this is because the
production methods of creating this are more practical for the time period
given rather than creating a standing desk calendar as we need to produce 6
copies. The a3 poster would be more practical in terms of printing also being a
standardised size.
Crit Test |
I have used a very clean and white layout that keeps the
focus on the drink illustration itself and the colour which is been taken from
the drug to highlight certain elements of the method and ingredients as well as
the title and the year. The dates are kept with the great divided up by lines
that coincide with the highlighted colour. A lot of this will change depending
on each illustration as the colour of the illustration will change depending on
its ingredients. The data is kept within a box on the left-hand side of the
page, as no month I'm using it longer than nine letters long, therefore this is
something that will be carried through each of the designs ensuring consistency
throughout the calendar. The box just highlights the section during the
audience's eyes towards it. Along the top of the design I have included graphic
design and the year of which the calendar is made for. In the bottom left-hand
corner there is small no exception this is to help with organisation, something
which I picked up on in my research.
The ingredient section lists the ingredients in black, there
is then a student hack comment next to each giving them a simpler alternative
to the ingredient or just a funny, help make the whole process a bit more
light-hearted. The same has been done within the method. This use of humour
will be an icebreaker between the students were presenting the idea.
Crit Feedback:
With the feedback it was discussed about all that was going
to bind the piece, although I suggested ring binding this proved to be an
unpopular idea. I believe this was an unpopular idea as it would take away from
the design, and contradict the cleaning Modern design style. It was suggested
that the pages could be perfect bound and card was placed over it in which you
could hang from a hole.
Overall the feedback was positive towards the illustrations
and the layout design, to the point where I was told to keep this the same and
just consistently develop the rest of the images to a similar design standard.
The notes section was deemed helpful, and therefore will be
remaining throughout all of the design.
It is also commented that the yellow used here to highlight
the text is likely to like to be able to be literate when printed. Therefore, I
will be sampling a colour from a different section of the design to rectify
this situation.
