Screen Post Exposure |
My screen printing
process went successfully without many issues, as this was my first time screen
printing I took extra precaution with each step. Overall my screen produced
prints that were successful and colour filled the spaces which were desired.
Although, if I were
to reprint my poster, and re-prepare my screen I would be more careful with the
emulsion, ensuring it is hard enough before I begin printing; as one of the
print faculty pointed out. In order to rectify this, issue the screen was
placed back into the UV bed, without the negatives, to ensure when printing
none of the emulsion was to come away. This is what had begun to happen on the
corner of the halftone image, due to the halftone being so small.
I would also take
the time to thoroughly wash and dry the screen after the change of print layer
each time, as sometime a bit of ink was transferred onto the page where it had
come through the screen without being properly wiped away.
