Poster Grid and Folding

As the poster needed to be folded down to A4 from A1 I created a simple grid to know which part of the printed poster will be on show to the audience when it is folded this will be a background consideration ensuring it makes sense to the audience about the content of the poster even when small. This grid will consist of 4 rows and 2 columns.

Base Grid for A1 Poster
When folded the bottom right hand corner will be the front cover of the booklet. I wanted to keep the design simple due to its format being so large, I wanted to make it as easy as possible for the audience to be able to unfold the booklet to present them with the poster, and be able to get it back down. This wouldn’t be possible with something like a hotdog fold, because of the scale it, the audience would need to know the method.
