To create a countdown, I have consistently used the three
red stripes mixed both type and photographic media, to represent the branding
of the exhibition keeping a consistent visual identity throughout the campaign.
The first trial I created focused around using just the logo with a white
background, the countdown numbers are in Franklin Gothic to link with the rest
of the branding. Making the numbers larger intersect the white space and make
the number stand out from the rest of the image.
To be able to improve the clarity of the countdown I have
used photography of the room in the library. The photography used is of room
700 pre exhibition prep, this brings the branding back to the location in which
it will be held, giving the audience a glimpse of how the room will be
transformed by our work. The black and white background contrasts against the
red, making it further stand out. This can be mixed with other imagery without
the countdown, as the template used was the same the content on the social
media pages will seem part of the same campaign when posted across different
social networks.
Although I believe the comments in the other style of
visuals make the content more relatable to designers, this type of imagery
opens up the media advertisement to a wider audience; it also coincides more
with the monochrome against red colour scheme.
