As the brief
requires, the final outcome must be completed using only traditional print
methods. Our facilities at LCA would allow me to create a variation of
different prints via different methods, such as lino, mono, embossing, screen
print, letter press etc. Although because of the images I have used, as we as
the information the image contains to be able to depict this in the most
detailed way I will be using screen printing to produce my final outcome.
In order to screen
print my outcome negatives of each layer needed to be created through breaking
down the image into sections. Each layer that requires a different type of inking
to the previous must be on a different layer.

Each of these layers
will be exposed onto my screen, and then printed in different orders depending
on the layer they must over or under lay. Image when screen printing must be
half-toned, this allows for the ink to become more and less dense in areas to
represent light and shade within an image. As mine is very detailed I decided
to halftone at 4pixels, this is the smallest amount of pixels in a halftone,
allowing for the most accurate representation of the image, once halftone'd the image must again be made greyscale as I am overlaying a single block of colour on this image.

As this image was
being printed in black and white, so another block coloured could be overlaid
the design. it can be printed alongside with the text as this will need to be
black throughout my design.
