The wayfinding for the exhibition is taken from the original
ideas where the visual identity derives from not only newspapers but also
relevant media, evident in the logo taking inspiration from breaking news
banners. The prints would be made without the gridded overlay, these prints
based around the logo identity, would then be attached to the prepared sandwich
boards, chicken wire would be used to create grid, creating a real mesh rather
than using a superimposed one.
The exhibition focuses around what the students of Leeds College of Art feel is the most important events within Leeds past that have shaped the city, we felt we would utilise this to be able to determine the curation of the exhibition. The exhibition will be organised depending on the density/amount of times that that particular event has come up with in the print exhibition, telling the audience that the students feel this is the most pressing matter within the history of Leeds. These signs would once again be used to fill out the back of the sandwich boards, utilising good available space, while still retaining visual relation to the theme.
