Final A1 Poster |
My final poster is a further development on my
previous initial design, I have included the new halftone version of the image I
generated. Linking the design to the artist and the brand itself. The layout
follows the original grid that I created to depict the way the audience will see
the content when it is folded. The bottom left hand corner contains only the
Tate logo, due to the negative space around it, it draws the audience’s eye
towards this information, which is key in an event poster. The text on the page
all have different subjects so I have used columns to display this, again this
allowed me to utilise the negative space in the header of the poster. The typeface
I chose to use was Montserrat this is a popular current typeface, whilst being
a very structured typeface it has a small x height in comparison to its ascenders
giving it more of a curved look, adding personality; whilst still retaining its
modern style.
I believe that I successfully created a poster that
contains the information needed, with imagery that depicts the paper construction
and the artist’s work. The design also conforms to the grid structure I created
for it, and at the same time still remains modern, reaffirming the clients
brand identity.
To improve my poster I would have liked to reprint it multiple times giving me the opportunity to test out different folding methods, possibly look at creating a book through a hotdog fold, although due to time constraints the facilities at LCA were not available, therefore I needed to outsource my printing; an expense I would not be able to afford to repeat multiple times.
