As part of my research into the artist herself, I decided to look into her work and her process. In doing so I asked Abi to curate a rationale of how she would describe herself as an artist. Through learning how the artist sees herself, I can gather an idea of the way which she wants to be presented in the industry and what type of people to.

Key themes throughout focus on a heavy influence from Scandinavian design and colour based historical artists and theorists such as Josef Albers and Sonia Delaunay, as well as more contemporary influences such as Bridget Riley and Marimekko. Taking colour in her work as key, whether this be bright or refined, colour is used in moderation and carefully thought through. Colours being used in harmony or clashing work throughout Abi’s work to define the way we all use and see colours, encouraging the viewer to see colour and movement in a variety of ways.
