Cherrytree Bakery - Final Website

After going back to the briefing considering what the brand finds important I decided that would be more valuable to create in our story page, rather than the home landing page. The brief emphasises the importance of family values and heritage of the brand, therefore I believe their history page will be most appropriate to present an idea. The design of rollers developed since the wireframes in the original test by removing the navigation at all. Rather than having open plan navigation that in the header of the website constantly I've decided to create a menu which would open out with animation, this simplifies the patient keeps the focus on the information itself. The previous images that were explored in the imagery of the branding have been used as the background on this page, this image is something that would change each time that the pages loaded, get the focus will always be an image of the people who work within the factory itself; putting overall focus onto the brand values. The text itself I've used a simple sans serif for the body type, this is to keep clarity in ensure legibility for consumers and other businesses who want to find out information about the brand itself. The title typography is Baskerville this has been taken from the text within the logo, further visually tying together the typography on the page and the brand itself. The highlights of green red and yellow took from the Lancashire flag has been used throughout the website, again linking back to the heritage of the brand itself which was an important feature of the brief. The opacity has been lowered in these block colours to be able to show the text from the imagery below it, therefore again not cutting out any of the imagery itself. The very background of the website stays consistent throughout, the same texture which is underlaid under the images has been used as a background with a low opacity. The texture itself resembles handmade paper and refers to the artisan methods of baking the goods themselves. By not being white, it takes the sharpness out of each page, which, therefore, in turn, allows for a warmer and inviting feel to the website itself, being visually warmer with the cream and brown fleck. Once again resembling the values and the ingredients used within the products themselves. No imagery there is in the background will ever be darker than the logo this is the darkest point of the page, to be able to bring the audience's eyes towards it and make it the key focal point of each page. The only other thing that is as dark as the logo is the menu key, and the title of each of the products, therefore again bringing the audience eyes to these points and encouraging natural navigation through the pages.
The product pages themselves support the imagery that I showed within my previous research, isolating the products makes it the key focal point of the image, and therefore the key focal point of the page this is reaffirmed by this asset being the largest thing on the page. The transparency of the image has been lowered in order to have the keyboard colour for that product come through. Again, this is still at random each time the page is loaded but will always resemble the green red and yellow of the Lancashire flag.
