Cherrytree Bakery - Crit 2

Within the crits presented the three visual ideas, which can be found within the last blog post in which I questioned both pairs and tutors but the visual identity direction I was going on and what improvements they believe should be made in order to be able to fit my brief better.

Crit Notes:

Idea 1 -
  • The high contrast allows for a modern feel and also allows the sans serif type below to not look lost within the piece.
  • If used or developed quite bring together the kerning of the type to give a tighter feel, and also the leading between the two lines in order to give it tighter feel further.
Idea 2 -
  • Having three typefaces means it's too confusing, it needs to be simplified more in order to become a successful typeface for a logotype. This could be done with the elimination of established, is the line established really needed in a new business.
  • Alignment is often needs to be even
  • The sizing of the different lines of text could be more equal, in order to give a better sense of hierarchy quality throughout the name of the making look like two separate things.
Idea 3 -
  • The use of the sans serif offers a bit more equality between the entirety of the logo itslef, althouhg serif is preferred due to its visual connotations being better linked to the values and the morals of the bakery themselves.
  • The line makes it more clear that the businesses are seperate, although still dont think it is needed as it is a new business venture.
